Choosing your wedding colours

Aqua and brown combination

Green and black combination
Purple and green combination

You have your wedding date set, top of the list of things you need to cross out before time catches up with you are venue and 'Wedding Colors'

The venue part is pretty much easy since you are working within your set budget-what can you afford? and theme-do you want a church, garden, pool, or beach wedding? are you going modern or traditional? So with that in mind it is much easy to settle on a wedding venue. If you don't know much about the surrounding you can seek help from a good wedding planner or ask your friends.

On the other hand, colors is a much tricky affair. At a time where most people want their personal style incorporated in their wedding, the colors you pick should show your style. Thus, pressure to pick the best  colors for your dream wedding.

It is important again not to take so much on this because you need to start vending for other services which are dependent on the wedding colours. For instance your wedding cake which you need to order at least 6 months before your wedding date,  invitation cards, wedding decor, flowers etc.

Therefore a few factors put into consideration while picking your wedding color(s):
  1. Your favorite colors: Make a list of your favorite colors and also for you partner. Think them out, play around with them and see if any tops the list then narrow down to best picks.
  2. Season: Having narrowed down to the top favorite colors, sieve out the rest judging by season. Is your wedding falling on a fairy sunny time? You can go with both dark colour since the sun shall add some brightness to them or the soft to just blend in with the great weather. Is it in the cold season, light colors will do to brighten the dull weather.
  3. Venue: is it a church, what is its colour scheme, is it carpeted, are you going for green gardens, the bright shall go well with nature or the beach, bright color always look good with the white sand.
  4. Mood you wish to display: is is romantic for more soft colors or fun for bright vibrant colors is it class for more royal, deep colors like navy?
  5. Also research on the internet, use the colour wheel and palette because even when you choose pink or blue, there are different hues of the pink or blue colour.

However it all narrows down to personal preference. If you love purple (like I do) and you always dream of a purple wedding scheme, personal style is crucial, you will feel better when you have what you want so go for it and you are lucky you  pretty much have it all figured out. If you are a random person and shall just go with what hits your genius mind first, very lucky as well, I wish I had it easy just like you.

But if you are on the other side of the divide, you love pink, aqua blue, black, navy, peach, you have quite a decision to make. Talking to your partner, friends, experts and going round wedding shops checking out for options can be confusing so just allow yourself to enjoy every bit of planning your wedding.Avoid feeling pressure even when it so much shows itself in black and white.

    Good luck.

Have fun, experiment with colors, have yourself a great wedding and live happily ever after.
