'Do not' while proposing

  1.  Please do not put the ring in food or drinks, you don't want the romantic moment ending up in an emergency room plus its just tired/cliche.
  2. Don't make it public, if you ask around majority of girls prefer to have a 'just the two of us moment' while you propose.
  3. Do not do it a sport events; in case she says 'lets think about it'
  4. Don't make it too complicated; simple is sophisticated.
  5. Don't propose at a family event; that puts unnecessary pressure on you.
  6. Don't copy what one of your friends did; If you do, don't be surprised if you get an uncertain answer!
Proposing when she is mad at you. Different school of thoughts on that. I would not mind a proposal when I am mad, depending on what has annoyed me.

But generally, if you are planning to marry her, you know her more than anyone including the experts. So the basic rule  is know your partner well and 'custom make' your proposal to her personality. If she is afraid of heights, don't propose to her while you are bungee jumping, if she is shy, do not propose to her in public, but preferably avoid any public proposals.

Remember, if you get the proposal wrong, there might be no wedding consequently no wife. So do your research, know her and nail it. Do it in such a way she can tell it to her friends and your children for the rest of her life.

How about girls proposing to men? I shall soon be writing about this issue.
